Job Description

The VP, Data Scientist is responsible for analyzing and leveraging data internally to improve and drive operational efficiency, and to monetize our data externally to develop and create new business opportunities. You will work closely with senior management and business leaders, and will need to have a strong understanding of our industry and our data to integrate, curate and build models to use the data both internally and externally. Your background should be deep knowledge in enterprise data warehousing and analytics modeling, and be a subject matter expert in the mortgage and real estates services business. The hiring manager is open to location of the position; preferring someone who is close to one of our core offices Philadelphia, PA; Denver, CO; or Tampa, FL.

What You Will Do

  • Advise business leaders by providing data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities.
  • Work with team members to provide business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments or the company at large.
  • Lead initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.
  • Identify subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis.
  • Ensure that applicable policies and procedures align with corporate vision.


Who We are Looking For

  • Strong background in enterprise data warehousing and analytics modeling.                                                               
  • Subject matter expert in the mortgage and real estates services business.
  • Expert in data analysis software (e.g., SAS, C++, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Must have strong hands-on analytical, organizational and project management skills as well as a consultative ability to negotiate, advise, and influence peers and superiors.
  • Strategic, forward planner and critical thinker with the ability to proactively problem-solve, multi-task, work independently and function in a dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact across the organization; Ability to interact with nontechnical audiences on a regular basis which includes conveying complex analyses to the highest levels of management 
  • Solid leadership skills with the ability to influence others
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with non technical personnel. 
  • Ability to express ideas effectively in both verbal and written formats.       
  •  10 - 15 years experience in data science with a strong preference for mortgage or financial services industry
  •  Bachelor’s Degree,  Concentration in Quantitative Field of Study  Preferred:    Master’s Degree,  Concentration in Quantitative Field of Study
