Job Description

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. We help promote and preserve the tradition of homeownership while protecting lenders from default-related losses on residential first mortgages. We also facilitate the sale of low-down payment mortgages in the secondary market.

The Title Clearance Representative reviews all title documentation including the title commitment and title search and works to eliminate all title issues to provide insurable title to the client.  Communicates with all parties involved to resolve all title curative issues in a timely manner.  Communicates with all parties to the transaction to clear the title for closing in an efficient and thorough manner.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1.)Review title commitments for requirements, exceptions and title defects, including but not limited to legal descriptions, mortgages, judgments, taxes, etc.  Understand and utilize search documents provided by the abstractor for further review of the title and the commitment.

2.)Identify all requirements, exceptions and title defects and work to clear all items necessary to insure title to meet the client, underwriter and state’s requirements.  Utilize real property records, state statutes and underwriter’s guidelines to effectively and efficiently clear title issues.

3.)Work with all parties to the transaction including but not limited to borrowers, sellers, attorneys, lien holders, real estate agents and other creditors to resolve all items on the title commitment as well as any lender requirements.  Maintain active and current notes in ValuNet as well as the client’s system of record if applicable.

4.)Address inquiries from clients, borrowers, real estate agents, internal staff and management in a professional and timely manner.

5.)Perform daily review of all work in progress to ensure all work is completed in the proper timeframe as required by the client.

6.)Perform additional duties as assigned.


College degree is preferred with prior title industry experience.  Minimum requirements of a high school diploma with title industry experience.  ALTA best practices experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of title requirements for origination and REO in multiple states; Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word);  Experience using client-based systems; Attention to detail; Motivated and positive team player; Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; Ability to multitask and problem solve in a fast-pace environment and growing business environment.
