Job Description

This position will provide paralegal support for the Legal & Compliance division. The primary functions of this position will be to assist with template contracting, license renewals, underwriting research, client due diligence and training.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support for review, completion and execution of template legal agreements for the settlement services businesses.
  • Provide support for review, completion and execution of template legal agreements for the settlement services businesses.
  • Assist in drafting legal and compliance bulletins for internal distribution.
  • Support regulatory compliance training by assisting with the preparation of internal training materials, job aids and updating substantive aspects of internal regulatory training based on changes in the law and regulator interpretations.
  • Reviews underwriting request and conduct research in order to propose solutions to difficult or unique circumstances.
  • Help manage the Company's entity and individual licenses and assist with license expansion into new areas.
  • Provide support for client due diligence and annual audits by underwriters and regulators.
  • Provide other assistance to members of the Legal & Compliance Division as may be necessary.

  • General legal research experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to work with multiple individuals and prioritize tasks. 
  • Strong computer, verbal and communication skills. 
  • Excellent inter-personal, logic, reasoning and judgment skills.  
  • Ability to work and think independently and communicate with regulators and others outside the company in a professional manner.

Prior Work Experience

  • Technical:   3 - 5 years
  • Supervisory:   None

Education and Credentials

  • Required:    Associate/Technical Degree,  Concentration in Paralegal Studies
  • Preferred:    Bachelor’s Degree
