Basic Purpose/Function:
• This position is responsible for medical and prescription plan analytical work to identify issues, trends and risks. Based on analysis outcome, the incumbent will identify, create, implement and market wellness programs with a goal of improving claim experience while building a culture of health and community. This individual will be the face of the wellness initiative at Radian.
• This position will be responsible for the management of the wellness and engagement budget, and vendor and contract management and is responsible for staying current with best practices in the employer wellness arena. In addition, incumbent will be responsible for medical and claims administration, including automated systems to enhance workflow.
• Utilizing research and analytical work, incumbent will be responsible for improving return on investment between wellness programs and claims experience, and influencing positive change within the organization. This individual will be responsible for developing in-depth knowledge of all benefit programs, and must possess the ability to integrate external trends to improve Radian’s benefit plan offerings.
• This individual will oversee, coordinate and incorporate Employee Engagement (Radian Connected Brand) into the Radian culture and will be expected to serve as the internal (employee and management team) spokesperson as well as the spokesperson/liaison to the community in partner programs.
• This position requires the individual to have sound judgment practices particularly when needs of the business or individual employees require immediate attention.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and report on-going analysis of claim type and utilization of Radian’s medical and prescription plans, to support our Wellness programs and initiatives.
  • Design, develop and implement all wellness programs, when appropriate based on claims analysis.  Develop and report metrics to identity expected outcomes and successes.  Continue to identity new ideas and opportunities regarding wellness initiative management.  In addition, ensure legal compliance to any/all regulations.                                                     
  • Responsible for the day to day administration of benefit plans; health and welfare and Savings Plan, as well as executive life and disability, to ensure policy and statutory compliance.                                                 
  • Responsible for review, audit and payment of benefit invoices: self-insured medical and prescription plan claim funding, as well as flexible spending account funding and other ancillary bills as warranted.                                                
  • Negotiate external contracts, manage vendor relationships and ensure SLAs are established and met, (i.e. service is being provided according to the contract and costs are managed within set budget.)                                                     
  • Responsible for updating the @Radian HR ~ Benefits page to keep benefit and wellness information current and relevant.  Other related duties as assigned, such as project coordination and program implementation.                                                            .


  • Solid understanding of health and welfare plan provisions and administrative procedures, as well as COBRA, HIPPA, ERISA, FMLA and other regulations related to employee benefits and wellness initiatives.
  • Provide assistance to employees and management at all levels of the organization with the ability to respond to and resolve employee inquiries relating to enrollment, claims and related issues.
  • Knowledge of disability management and provisions with regard to Short term, Long term disability and FMLA and be able to work with HR Business Partners to assure cohesion between disability management vendor and continued salary payments to employees.
  • Ability to coordinate and provide oversight to Wellness and Employment Engagement programs.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical ability to review claims experience, create wellness programs and conduct ROI analysis of corporate health and wellness initiatives.
  • Proficient time management and project management skills; ability to effectively complete multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Ability to think creatively and provide recommendations that fit Radian’s culture and business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), as well as committee leadership skills.                                                  . 

Prior Work Experience and Education:

  • 5 to 8 years of related work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
