Job Description

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. The Senior Security Analyst will manage, monitor, and review Radian's Information Security toolset and their byproducts. Responsibilities include:
• Protect and Defend - Uses data collected from a variety of cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to analyze events that occur within their environments for the purposes of mitigating threats.
• Investigates, analyzes, and responds to cyber incidents within the network environment or enclave.
• Performs assessments of systems and networks within the network environment or enclave and identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. Measures effectiveness of defense-in-depth architecture against known vulnerabilities. Analyzes digital evidence and investigates computer security incidents to derive useful information in support of system/network vulnerability mitigation.
• Optimization of security workflows and enforcing/upholding security best practices.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer software tools that support the Information Security Program.  Examples of security tools include software to support endpoint security/encryption, vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection systems, data leakage and web proxy/filtering.                    
  • Participate in intrusion detection and security event monitoring programs.  Investigate and respond to security related events. Analyze security outputs from various technologies to effectively solution security practices and response.                    
  • Participate in threat modeling and cyber hunting activities. This includes but is not limited to reviewing threat intelligence feeds, reducing exposure through vulnerability management, mapping of compensating controls to escalate or reduce risk based on applicability, and reviewing available information to look for latent threats within Radian's environment.                  
  • Optimize current security implementations and promote best practices across the enterprise in order to maintain the following domains: security and risk management, asset security, communications and network security, identity and access management, and security operations.                
  • Produce and manage security baselines, metrics, workflows and reports.      
  • Provides, as necessary, technical guidance and direction to less experienced staff. Takes a proactive approach to mentoring other staff members.              
  • Other information security tasks as assigned

Knowledge:

  • Possess strong technical knowledge and understanding of security concepts, including: network/perimeter security, security event monitoring; vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection and response, encryption technologies, data loss prevention, and Internet content monitoring/filtering. 
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of relevant security technologies.
  • Possess good working knowledge of networking and security protocols. 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to speak and explain security technical terms to customers without similar backgrounds. 
  • Excellent time management skills to effectively meet multiple objectives 
  • Strong analytical, process and troubleshooting skills. 
  • The desire, commitment and ability to be a team player 
  • Professional attitude and presentation.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical Security Certifications including GSEC, GCIH, GCED, CISSP or CISA
  • Action oriented, self-motivated and capable of performing several tasks simultaneous

Prior Work Experience:

  • 5 - 8 years of related experience

Education and Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or 6+ years of work experience in the IT Security field required.
  • Master's Degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology or related field preferred.
