Job Description

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. We help promote and preserve the tradition of homeownership while protecting lenders from default-related losses on residential first mortgages. We also facilitate the sale of low-down payment mortgages in the secondary market.

Our commitment to homeownership is built on a foundation of evaluating credit risk; we help clients and investors expertly and prudently manage risk in any market condition.

The analyst will be part of a team that generates reporting, analysis and commentary on a monthly basis. This reporting satisfies information requests from Senior Management and other internal customers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manipulation of large data files (e.g., SAS, Excel, etc.) to identify trends, make business recommendations, and to provide data extractions to business partners
  • Pro-actively contribute to the data management process through effective data research and analysis.  Assist in improving data quality and report accuracy
  • The analyst may be tasked to develop unique solutions to analysis and reporting challenges ( learn new software, develop new analysis techniques, seek process improvements)
  • The analyst may be involved in projects requiring collection of external Mortgage Industry data as well as provide support on projects managed by other team members

Job Specifications:


  •  The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree. Some experience preferred but will consider recent grad with strong technical skills (Excel, SAS, SQL) and demonstrated ability to grasp new concepts/techniques
  • Good analytical, problem solving and data management skills with abilities to digest vast amounts of data, manipulate it, and identify correlations though a variety of statistical techniques

Skills and Abilities:

  • Key competencies in: problem solving skills, and planning and organizing work
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and show a demonstrated ability to absorb information quickly
  • Training / experience with Microsoft Office products; very high-level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Access
  • Ability to work independently and accurately with a high regard for attention to detail

Other Position Parameters:

  • Work in a team environment; balancing and prioritizing requests from multiple managers and departments within Radian
  • Exceptional time management skills, able to respond to changing priorities

Prior Work Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Math, Economics or Finance required
