Job Description

The Quantitative Pricing Analyst will be a member of the Pricing and Valuation team within the Risk Management Group, and dedicated to the analysis of Credit/Mortgage Insurance Pricing, Credit Risk Transfer Securitizations, Portfolio Risk Attribution, and ad hoc financial and quantitative analysis. In addition, this role will responsible for the development of new pricing and return models analysis based on market trends and developments, database management, assisting in the measuring and monitoring of insurance rates for submittal to state regulators, and price exception monitoring.

What you will do:

  • Completion and enhancement of time series reports and analytics to support the surveillance of internal metrics and ratios.  Leverage Python, SAS and Excel to automate and streamline reporting structures.
  • Preparation, analysis and distribution of daily, monthly, and quarterly pricing and cash flow analysis and reporting   Leverage Bloomberg data and tools to provide additional insight and enhance reports.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and make recommendations for enhancements to the current pricing, reporting structure and framework.
  • Responsible for the ongoing monitoring and collection of competitor rates for incorporation into Radian’s competitive position framework.  Including the development and maintenance of databases.
  • Assist in the research and implementation of market data and variables to enhance pricing and financial forecasts.
  • Proactively analyze trends and causation via attribution analysis and reporting.
  • Create new and maintain existing procedure documents and implement best practices for processes.

Who we are looking for:


  • 1-3 years analytical experience within the mortgage banking, Reinsurance, or financial services industry
  • Advanced knowledge of Python, SAS, VBA, SQL, or a similar programming language
  • General understanding of pricing/valuation/ROC concepts and methods

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks under deadlines
  • Ability to perform analysis and provide conclusions and recommendations
  • Proficient with all Microsoft applications (Excel/PowerPoint) and familiarity with VBA or a similar language
  • Experience manipulating large data sets

Other Position Parameters:

  • High level of interest in learning and utilizing advanced analytical and statistical methods
  • Demonstrated track record of  success and increasing knowledge base                                                                                                                                                                           
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills

Prior Work Experience

  • 1 - 3 years of related work experience

Education and Credentials

  • Required:    Bachelor’s Degree,  Concentration in • Mathematics, Finance, Economics or Computer Science
