Job Description

You will be responsible for performing the daily cash posting routines including both manual and automated posting. Youl will run/review proof reports and take corrective action as required to clear exceptions, process refunds and make certificate level updates. This position requires knowledge of the cash posting system process as well as certificate level characteristics and pricing/modification programs which impact premium. These duties include communicating with internal and external business partners to resolve discrepancies.

What you will do:

  • Daily processing of automated and manual payment batches, maintaining compliance with established SLAs and productivity guidelines while meeting time sensitive month end deadlines.  Review and clear exceptions, submit refund request and partner with lenders, trustees and servicers as needed to resolve discrepancies.   Research funds that cannot be identified and submit refund request as needed.   Identify funds belonging to other functional units and provide notifications in accordance with department guidelines   
  • Complete Batch Settlement sheets for each batch processed to accurately allocate funds, record premium and clear suspense. Perform timely updates to department database/EWS/work flow tools. Assist with suspense research as needed.                    
  • Serve a as a subject matter expert for process and system improvement opportunities.  Cross training as needed to provide adequate back up/support for other Premium Processing functions as needed                    
  • Support user acceptance testing as required                    
  • Provide basic root-cause analysis of payment file issues and prepare basic department reports if needed.                    
  • Other related duties as assigned                    


Who we are looking for:

Knowledge:

  • Experience in a billing and payment environment– insurance/premium experience preferred
  • Experience with Electronic Workflow Solutions (EWS)
  • Experience in  mortgage banking or related industry, an understanding of premium accounting transactions            
  • Strong technical and reporting skills in Excel and MS Office


Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication skills
  • Ability to handle difficult/complex customer facing issues
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with critical month-end and quarter-end milestones
  • Mathematical skills, ability to calculate premium and balance files
  • Strong reporting and technical skills

Other Position Parameters:

  • Must be able to work overtime as business needs warrant
  • Employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to utilize keyboard, talk and hear.  Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Employee will need to lift boxes, mail and courier deliveries on a daily basis

Prior Work Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years of related work experience

Education:

  • HS Diploma/GED required.
