Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. We help promote and preserve the tradition of homeownership while protecting lenders from default-related losses on residential first mortgages. We also facilitate the sale of low-down payment mortgages in the secondary market.

The Operations Manager leads and supervises an assigned group of Team Leads and Transaction Managers responsible for managing client projects and meeting agreed to Quality, Capacity, Delivery, Productivity, Profitability and Team Building goals for the service center as well as ensuring that high quality mortgage services and best in class client support are provided to Clayton’s client base.   This position is primarily responsible for the ongoing success of all of their assigned deals, works with and mentors their assigned Leads and TM's to ensure a high level of client satisfaction at all times.

The Operations Manager will work with the  CSM team, their assigned Team Leads/Transaction Managers and directly with clients to make sure the review scope(s) and requirements are clearly defined, that we have a signed SOW and all required resources (lead packet, database set up, loan files, staff, etc.) are received and in place prior to the start of a deal and that status updates for all of their active deals are sent to the client daily. 

This position will also be responsible for ensuring that either they or their Leads and/or TMs provide accurate internal deal status tracking and communication on all of their assigned deals to both the SVP, Transaction Management and the requisite CSM; that performance management systems are in place and implemented for their assigned staff and that any client issues are proactively addressed and resolved.   To be successful in this role, the Operations Manager needs to be organized, an effective leader, good communicator and coach who mentors and helps to problem solve complex client engagements. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1.) Primarily responsible for managing an assigned group of Team Leads and Transaction managers and their day-to-day process of successfully completing assigned client projects.  

2.) Responsible for the service delivery and workflow, manpower and other resources for their assigned deals and staff to deliver superior service to our clients as well as achieving department quality, delivery, productivity and profit goals.

3.) Operational subject matter expert who works with our clients in helping them identify the best due diligence or servicing solution and operational delivery approach to meet their needs and time frames.

4.) Consistently looks to improve processes by identifing potential problems within the underwriting administrative and delievery process and makes recommendations for changes to enhance the system and/or recommends process improvements to reduce cycle times, increase efficiencies, etc.

5.) Works with their assigned Team Leads to ensure that their deals are properly set up and all files and required client deliverables are received ahead of the scheduled start time and that they have sufficient staff and resources to complete all deals on or ahead of schedule.

6.) Works with Team Leads, Ops Mgrs, Directors and other colleagues when necessary to ensure continuation of solid client relationships.

7.) Develops and maintains positive business relationships with internal and external customers.

8.) Identifies and communicates portfolio risks resulting from client’s underlying business practices, underwriting, and / or fraud exposure.


Associates Degree (Minimum), Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred);
5+ years management experience, 8+ years in residential underwriting, repurchase transactions, knowledge and familiarity with current mortgage and compliance laws and regulations;
Experience successfully managing teams of people and mulitple projects simultaneously;
Stong functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as  eCLAS

Technical: 8-10 years

Supervisory: 5-8 years
