Job Description

The Operations Analyst II will work on projects to support the strategic initiatives of the MI and Services Operations area: Customer Experience, Client Advocacy, Loss Management, and MI Servicing. This position performs research to support cross-functional strategic priorities, makes recommendations, and provides ad hoc analytical and project management support to initiatives across the MI and Services Operations area. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform independent research based on customer requests or internal issues found. Make recommendations based on findings. Track issues from inception through implementation working with the customer or Client Advocate, internal subject matter experts, IT, legal, and compliance teams as needed.
  • Evaluate current state processes to identify areas of improvement, automation or re-engineering. Advocate for changes that promote efficiency and effectively manage business concerns regarding change.
  • Analyze reports and create ad hoc analysis to highlight trends and opportunities. Analyze data to identify trends, isolate root cause, and highlight opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity.
  • Prepare presentations and summaries to discuss the results of reportings and findings. Present findings and recommend action plans to management and other business leaders as needed.
  • Manage reconciliation of invoices and track spending for outside services used by the Mortgage Insurance and Risk Services area. Work with Accounting/Procurement teams to identify and evaluate opportunities for process improvement or cost savings


Job Specifications

Knowledge:

  • Prior work experience in the insurance, financial services, or mortgage banking field required.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills: Excel (vlookups, macros, etc.), PowerPoint, and Word.
  • SalesForce skills a plus.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to think critically and strategically; must be detail-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in manipulating and analyzing large amounts of data; experience synthesizing vast amounts of information into concise, easy to understand, relevant, and actionable insights for senior management.
  • Experience in process improvement or process redesign; experience in change management a plus.
  • Experience managing multiple projects independently and working with business partners to prioritize tasks and deliver on schedule.
  • Ability to work with varying levels of management within the organization; ability to present findings according to the audience and desired outcomes.


Prior Work Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of related work experience


Education and Credentials

  • Required:    Bachelor’s Degree,  Concentration in Business, Engineering, or Mathematics
