Job Description

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. We help promote and preserve the tradition of homeownership while protecting lenders from default-related losses on residential first mortgages. We also facilitate the sale of low-down payment mortgages in the secondary market.

Our commitment to homeownership is built on a foundation of evaluating credit risk; we help clients and investors expertly and prudently manage risk in any market condition.

This position will support our Government Relations Function by serving as the primary coordinator between the business and our frontline policy efforts, primarily those efforts of our SVP, Chief Policy Officer and outside lobbying firm. In addition to helping develop and drive policy, this role will run the Radian Political Action Committee (PAC), will help facilitate communications, create and support an internal counsel of business leaders for government policy matters, will prepare updates for the business and our Board of directors regarding policy related matters, will support development of strategic policy objectives, help oversee the allocation of spend to those areas and groups deemed most impactful to our policy objectives and otherwise help to enhance the visibility and impact of our Government Relations function. This role will report jointly to the SVP, Chief Policy Officer and Radian's General Counsel, who collectively (together with this new role) will comprise Radian's Government Relations team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience in Federal Governmental matters, either in Public or Private sector.
  • Financial Services background/working knowledge is preferred.Coordinate policy discussion and strategy among the business and Government Relations function  
  • Support development of policy strategy and support oversight of allocation of spend
  • Draft policy updates to the board and management and organize various meetings for discussions
  • Attend meetings of trade groups (e.g., USMI) and other meetings as necessary
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:


  • Experience in Federal Governmental matters, either in Public or Private sector.
  • Financial Services background/working knowledge is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and work with all levels of management
  • Strong analytical and project management skills 

Prior Work Experience and Education:

  • 3 - 5 years or more of related experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
