Job Description

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. We help promote and preserve the tradition of homeownership while protecting lenders from default-related losses on residential first mortgages. We also facilitate the sale of low-down payment mortgages in the secondary market.

You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing the Company’s GAAP and Statutory tax provisions within our automated tax accounting process, preparation of the corresponding tax footnote disclosures, and maintenance of detailed supporting workpapers. You will also coordinate with the company’s outside audit firm to assist in its review of the Company’s financial statements. You will report to the Vice President of Corporate Tax.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review and record consolidating tax provisions under ASC 740 and SSAP 101 and maintain detailed supporting schedules                     
  • Prepare and review current and deferred tax account reconciliations and supporting workpapers    
  • Prepare and review GAAP and Statutory tax accounting footnote disclosures                
  • Provide Company specific tax accounting information to service providers engaged to audit the Company’s GAAP and Statutory financial statements  
  • Identify opportunities for further automation, efficiency, and improvements in our automated tax accounting provision system and tax accounting processes                    
  • Assist in analyzing the impact of new or proposed tax accounting principles to provide awareness of the potential impact to our Company.

Job Specifications:


  • Solid understanding of GAAP ASC 740 accounting principles
  • Experience with SSAP 101 insurance accounting principles is a plus
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision software or other similar tax provision software applications.

Prior Work Experience and Education:

  • 5 to 8 years of related work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA or Masters in Taxation or Accounting preferred.

Other Certifications:

  • CPA.
