Job Description

This intern (part-time or full-time) will work with the Manager, ERM and the SVP, ERM to execute the company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and General Business Insurance Program activities. The intern will obtain hands-on experience preparing materials for our quarterly ERM review meetings and monthly ALCO meetings, will respond to Insurance-related requests, will participate in various ERM-related meetings, will assist with the development of a counterparty management framework and will work on special projects such as the development of policies and procedures and the preparation of materials for the PA Department of Insurance, Radian's Board of Directors and/or other third parties.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the repository of ERM performance metrics/documentation stored on ERM's business intelligence platform (Workiva).
  • Assist with the development of an enterprise-wide counterparty management framework, including the identification and assessment of Radian's counterparty risk, the creation of reporting on key metrics and the review of requests for exceptions to counterparty insurance requirements.
  • Gain an understanding of Radian's corporate insurance policies and process Evidence of Insurance requests, assist with claim filings and gather data for insurance policy renewals as needed.
  • Assist with special projects, such as the preparation of PA DOI filings (e.g. Form F, ORSA) and the development of ERM policies and procedures.
  • Prepare materials to facilitate risk discussions (e.g. agendas, minutes, presentation materials and analysis), participate in the discussions and assist with other ERM-related activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Critical and innovative thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle changing work environments, priorities and situations effectively.
  • Ability to manage tasks and time commitments to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Other Position Parameters: This is a part-time role.

Education:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate student (or recent college graduate) pursuing a degree in Finance, Risk Management, Insurance or any related analytical fields preferred.
  • Undergraduate student in senior year or graduating college with 3.0+ GPA or graduate student is preferred.
