Job Description

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. We help promote and preserve the tradition of homeownership while protecting lenders from default-related losses on residential first mortgages. We also facilitate the sale of low-down payment mortgages in the secondary market.

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this analytically-minded, results-driven individual contributor will develop, execute, and continuously measure and refine segment specific go-to-market strategies that may account for various industries, buying personas, and competitors.

This role requires regular interaction and collaboration with cross-functional key stakeholders to understand the needs of the business to ensure those strategies align with achieving segment specific goals and maximizing return on marketing investment.

Key aspects of this position include strategic thinking, customer understanding, acquisition life cycle determination, industry benchmarking, cross-functional project planning and management, and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have strategic, creative, and analytical skills needed to connect data to insights and transform the organization's business objectives into segment specific marketing strategies that deliver results.

Additionally, the candidate must understand the entire buying cycle, analyzing the impact of various data variables and attributes that not only drive a response but are the highest predictors of conversion.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Analyze insights from data, customer research, current market conditions, competitor information, and key business stakeholders to identify opportunities and develop multi-channel lead generation and life-cycle marketing strategies to capitalize on those opportunities. Quickly assess and anticipate market trends, competitive shifts and adopt strategies to drive optimal performance.
  • Collaboration: Develop go-to-market briefs designed to gain cross-functional buy-in, and provide executive-level status updates against strategies and campaigns in flight. Serve as the main point of contact for marketing for assigned initiatives.
  • Execution: Implement all associated tactics with strategies developed, including, but not limited to advertising, social media, direct mail, printed literature, promotional products, and related marketing assets, such as video. This includes drafting copy, design, vendor interaction, expense control, coordinating feedback, approval process, and inventory management. Relentlessly drive growth through creative thinking, test-and-learn methodology, and rapid execution.
  • Analysis: Regularly compile and analyze results across the full funnel (and for associated campaigns) to continuously optimize overall campaign mix. Implement scalable, repeatable and comparable methods of measurement, return on investment and key performance tracking, and develop dashboards to report on and share performance versus goals/benchmarks with key stakeholders. Based on analytics, identify opportunities to consistently improve data driven variables that are examined and contemplated in decision-making.
  • Management: Manage a variety of external resources including creative agencies, freelance designers, consultants and printers to ensure that all initiatives are delivered on time and within the established budget.
  • Knowledge: Develop/maintain an expert knowledge of Radian’s products and services, as well as an awareness of Radian’s competition including their strengths and weaknesses.


Job Specifications:

Knowledge:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of lead generation and campaign management experience, including email, direct mail, marketing automation, etc. This role requires someone with a proven track record of developing and implementing programs that deliver business results and the ability to easily transition from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution.
  • Previous experience in mortgage banking or financial services is extremely advantageous.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, stakeholders, and departments across the organization (including multiple marketing and cross-functional teams, shared services and various external agencies). This role requires someone who can manage up and across with fluidity and is comfortable leading by influence versus direct reporting oversight in a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills with a clear focus on results in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Ability to manage a large number of simultaneous initiatives and tasks and keep deliverables on schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Highly motived self-starter with a positive attitude, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates resilience under pressure. This role requires a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done and a strong passion for marketing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with high level of poise and professionalism.  This role requires someone who can clearly present ideas to gain alignment and support for initiatives at all levels with the ability to distill the complex into the digestible/actionable insights.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience developing marketing plans by integrating research and other data, and testing and analyzing results, lead scoring and tactics for improvement.  This role requires someone who is proficient at owning, maintaining, and reporting on performance goals and metrics around initiatives.
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills. This role requires someone who can apply critical thinking quickly and effectively to know when to take action or when to escalate blocks to delivering against strategic plans that are approved and in flight.
  • Experience in any relevant areas as required by the role, i.e. social media, advertising, direct response marketing, etc.

Prior Work Experience:

  • 8 - 10 years of related experience.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline is required.
