Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. We help promote and preserve the tradition of homeownership while protecting lenders from default-related losses on residential first mortgages. We also facilitate the sale of low-down payment mortgages in the secondary market.

The BI Data Analyst proactively participates in designing, developing and evolving high quality, usable and extensible BI solutions and interpretation of results using a variety of techniques ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining. This individual will be responsible for creating new analyses, or updating existing ones, to provide critical business information that services Clayton’s analytical needs. In addition, they will perform all aspects of analysis and report development ranging from requirement gathering to creating advanced dashboards while demonstrating the ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment.

1.) Produce reports and analyses of mortgages and mortgage-backed securities using a variety of techniques ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining.

2.) Design, build, and maintain data models, dashboards, reports and supporting objects in a Business Intelligence environment.

3.) Accountable for developing high quality, customer-friendly BI solutions, as evidenced by taking ownership for data quality, report quality and customer satisfaction.

4.)  Perform unit and user acceptance testing of reporting modules, analyzes test results, and corrects problems.

5.) Create, design and update technical documentation such as users' manuals, product specifications, and training materials, as necessary.

6.)  Participate in first level of production support activities and resolves escalated support issues.

7.)  Develops and implements complex reporting and analytical processes.

8.) Generates new code and corrects, converts, and/or modifies existing code to meet specifications.


• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or other data analysis discipline.  Demonstrated experience considered in lieu of technical degree.
• 1-3 years experience with data warehousing and SQL required
• 2+ years experience with SQL Server, Oracle, JDeveloper, Business Objects, SAS, R, SPSS, MicroStrategy, Cognos, other BI tools, or statistical programming experience highly preferred.
• Understanding of data movement (ETL), Business Intelligence and industry trends.
• Knowledge and familiarity with current mortgage loans evaluations, gathering requirements, analyzing data, data mapping, and report/database development.
• Understanding of “Big Data” concepts and tools (i.e. Hadoop, map reduce, Hive, Pig, No SQL, etc.) highly preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• 2 – 4 years experience with a relational database and BI report development preferably with Financial / Mortgage business acumens.
• 1 - 2 years experience with a Business Intelligence tool; JDeveloper, SAS, R, MicroStrategy, Cognos, Busines Objects, or other BI Tools.
• Expert in designing and developing Data Source Views, Dimensions, Hierarchies, Cubes and Reports.
• Clear and concise understanding of data movement (ETL), Business Intelligence and industry trends.
• Create ETL processes and development of charts and reports for reporting initiatives.
• Understanding of Business Intelligence industry and trends
• Must be a team player with effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to clearly and professionally interact with internal and external parties.
• Understanding of query driven applications and reporting, and logical and physical data models.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Strong creative thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
• High commitment to excellent service levels and satisfaction with partners.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task are necessary.
• Detail-oriented outlook coupled with ability to manage time effectively, plan ahead and meet deadlines.
