Job Description

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. We help promote and preserve the tradition of homeownership while protecting lenders from default-related losses on residential first mortgages. We also facilitate the sale of low-down payment mortgages in the secondary market.

As the AVP, Financial Application Support you will be responsible for managing the financial applications from a functional perspective, including providing training and support to all Radian end users, spanning all departments. Together, with your team, you will act as a liaison with IT and third party vendors regarding all financial applications, including new applications, conversions & upgrades. Other responsibilities of yours will include the management of financial application reporting as well as ensuring appropriate controls are maintained around systems, including application access, change control, SDLC, etc. We will coordinate with and provide information for auditors as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will manage, maintain and assist end users with financial applications. Provide (or coordinate) report development and report maintenance services and make organization/hierarchy and other changes as required. Coordinate with and provide information for auditors as needed.
  • You have an in-depth knowledge of the corporate financial applications in order to individually troubleshoot and resolve production system issues.  Knows the importance of 100% production availability and conducts themselves accordingly with priority and a like sense of responsibility and ownership.  Develops and provides classroom or individual education and training with business owners, as needed.
  • You will be responsible for the administrative management of direct reports.   Includes performance reporting, setting objectives and goals, monitoring deliverables, conducting staff and one-on-one meetings, ensuring proper career development plans are in place as well as individual development plans.

Job Specifications:

Knowledge:

  • You have advanced functional knowledge of ERP systems (examples: Oracle, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Workiva, etc.) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, especially Excel
  • You possess an accounting or finance degree and significant related experience
  • You also have an in-depth knowledge of all financial reporting, i.e. 10K, Balance Sheets, P and L, etc.
  • You have prior experience managing SaaS based financial applications, from a functional perspective, as well providing support to a large end user community
  • Familiarity with web-based tools


Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to function as a subject matter expert on financial applications (see above).
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with people with different skill sets and skill levels, from executive management to clerical staff, across the organization and externally.
  • Advanced project management skills.


People Management:

  • 2 to 4 direct reports


Prior Work Experience:

  • 8 - 10 years of related work experience
  • 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance required.
