Job Description

As the AVP, Counterparty Risk Manager you will measure, monitor, and manage assigned lenders and servicers’ risk relationship with the organization including, but not limited to, mix of business and performance. Actively and effectively communicate corporate policies and expectations with clients and develop action plans where applicable regarding client risk trends.

What you will do:

  • Manage assigned accounts to pre-determined mix of business and performance metrics (EDE ratio, Risk Mix and Portfolio Tolerances etc.) and determined by industry averages, corporate portfolio expectations, and geographic footprints.
  • Promote a risk culture throughout the organization by communicating and educating personnel in regard to corporate risk philosophy while balancing business and customer needs.
  • Customize exceptions to credit policy based on quantitative analysis.
  • Gather market intelligence through the development of risk-to-risk relationships with assigned accounts and leverage the same to support internal Risk Operations and Credit Policy.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness and improvement of the team of Risk Managers.
  • Other related duties as assigned specific to role functions within the risk manager group, such as lender dashboard management, exception tracking management, field risk management or institution type subject matter experts.

Who we are looking for:


  • Minimum ten (10) years working with progressively challenging mortgage credit, and/or underwriting duties.
  • Quantitative training in mathematics and statistics.
  • Experience managing high-level business relationships.

Skills and Abilities:

  • The Risk Manager must be able to clearly communicate and manage all facets of credit risk while readily interfacing between the client and the organization as applicable.  The ability to analyze data, learn new concepts, leverage existing mortgage experience, and communicate in a professional and thorough manner is required.  Communicating to one’s audience is critical, whether in a presentation setting or general conversation.  Strong communication skills, including oral and written presentation skills.  Advanced computer skills.

Prior Work Experience

  • 10 to 15 years of related work experience

Education and Credentials

  • Required:  Bachelor’s Degree
