Job Description

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Radian connects lenders, homebuyers, investors and loan servicers using a suite of private mortgage insurance and related risk management products and services. We help promote and preserve the tradition of homeownership while protecting lenders from default-related losses on residential first mortgages. We also facilitate the sale of low-down payment mortgages in the secondary market.

Provide direct Application Support and Maintenance for Radian's critical business line applications. Troubleshoot & resolve production incidents; develop and test small enhancements and defect fixes. Implement and enhance monitoring solutions to maintain stability; create and maintain a knowledge base to ensure adequate knowledge transfer, and manage the relationships with development and infrastructure teams to ensure appropriate development and implementation of advanced technical solutions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Production support to include problem resolution, application administration and configuration, application support for SDLC related product (small enhancements, defect fixes, minor refactoring)
  • Create Knowledge Base Articles for L1 Self-Support
  • Create Playbooks for L2 Configuration and Base Support Activities
  • Test Environment Creations, Changes


Job Specifications

Knowledge:

  • Solid background in application support; specialized training or equivalent work experience
  • Experience of working within a ticketing system with a clear understanding of SLA’s
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in customer support orientated environment
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships and work with both technical and non-technical users on issues
  • Understanding of Incident and Problem Management


Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience of the following technologies: JIRA, Confluence, Rally, Subversion, BitBucket, GIT, Bamboo, Jenkins
  • Experience with an Object Oriented Programming Language (Java, C#, VB.NET)
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
  • Experience of working in a distributed team of technical staff / working in technology organization
  • Experience of working in an environment subject to Change Control, implementation policies and standards
  • Strong documentation skills, ability to organize and prioritize workload

Prior Work Experience:

  • 5 - 8 years of related work experience

Education and Credentials:

  • HS Diploma/GED in Math, Science, Computers or related field required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred.
