Job Description

As the VP, Enterprise Records Governance you will be accountable for ensuring Radian's adherance to internal, third party and regulatory requirements related to records management. You will provide oversight for a company-wide records management program, including the creation/maintenance/roll-out of policies and procedures, serving as a subject matter expert in projects that require records management expertise and working with representatives from across Radian Group to implement records management controls. You will also be responsible for implementing a governance structure, overseeing the inventorying of company records, facilitating the resolution of records-related issues and instilling records governance in both existing and new initiatives across the enterprise.

What you will do:

  • Lead and oversee a company-wide records management program, including the implementation of a records governance framework and execution of a records governance roadmap.  Work closely with the VP, Enterprise Data Governance to ensure consistency and efficiency in the execution of an Information Governance framework, as well as in the communication with senior and executive management regarding the status of the program and individual projects. 
  • Lead or participate in projects/discussions with employee working groups to address records management issues, such as the preservation, handling, retention and/or destruction of company records.  Coordinate with Information Stewards to develop mitigation plans and implement controls to resolve records management issues.  Integrate new ventures and acquisitions into Radian's records management program and work with others to implement controls.
  • Coordinate with Legal and internal/external parties to update Radian's records retention schedule on a periodic basis and monitor compliance. Collaborate with stakeholders to determine appropriate retention timeframes to apply to various storage sites used across the organization (e.g. email, Box, applications, etc).  Create or refresh appropriate records governance policies and procedures based on industry best practices to facilitate compliance with internal, third party (e.g. clients, vendors) and regulatory requirements, while considering Radian's unique culture and business model. 
  • Increase awareness of the records management program and requirements across Radian, coordinate with HR to develop and provide records training as needed. Maintain knowledge of best industry practices and trends, identify/monitor regulatory changes, and recommend improvements to Radian's records governance program. Serve as a subject matter expert, providing records management expertise and guidance.
  • Design and update metrics and reporting for senior and executive management to communicate the status of the overall records governance program and various records-related projects (includes ERM risk assessment, scoring, tolerance levels, etc.).  Assist with other ERM and Information Governance projects as needed.


What we are looking for:


Knowledge:

  • Bachelors Degree required in Organizational Mgmt., Business Admin. or related field. Masters Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant work experience in records, document management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large company-wide programs, assignments and projects.
  • Significant knowledge regarding industry best practices related to records management in a financial services company.
  • Institute of Certified Records Managers certification is a plus.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple short-term projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and effectively lead meetings.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize among competing needs.


Prior Work Experience

  • 8 to 10 years of related work experience, with 1 - 3 years of supervisory experience.


Education and Credentials

  • Required:    Bachelor’s Degree,  Concentration in Organizational Mgmt, Business Admin.
  • Preferred:    Master’s Degree
  • Other Certifications::   Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) certification is a plus.
