Job Description

The Sr. Data Warehouse Analyst proactively participates in developing artifacts that are consumed by the data engineering team such as source to target mappings, data quality rules, and data transformation rules for the various EIM projects. The Sr. Data Analyst must be a critical thinker who can investigate an issue, review the results, and provide a suggested solution to the problem. The Sr. Data Warehouse Analyst works closely with a variety of partners including the data architects, the data engineering team, the application development team, the QA team, and business partners. Therefore the Sr. Data Warehouse Analyst must be able to effectively communicate to ensure others understand the information that is provided to them as well as any request that is made of them.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with  stakeholders to develop specifications for data integration and movement that includes performing data profiling, data analysis, identify data related issues and provide a suggested resolution, create source/target mappings and transformation, load and data cleansing rules.
  • Direct and provide leadership in development troubleshooting of data defects with transactional system.
  • Champion data quality. Investigate data quality issues and develop improvement plans. Maintain metadata and support the firm’s metadata platform.
  • Actively lead and/or participate in projects and complete duties as assigned by manager and project leadership including the development of analytics to support data savvy business partners.

Job Specifications


  • Ability to write SQL queries required.
  • Experience with SQL Server or  Oracle is required.
  • Understanding of data movement (ETL) and data warehousing.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Hands on experience with a relational database such as Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Ability to write  SQL code.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio preferred.
  • High level proficiency with Excel. Able to effectively use Excel functionality to reduce the time spent doing routing documentation work. Examples include, but not limited to, macros, lookup functions, pivot tables, etc.
  • Working knowledge of data movement (ETL), Business Intelligence and data warehousing.
  • Must be a team player with effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to clearly and professionally interact with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Strong creative thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • High commitment to excellent service levels and satisfaction with partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task are necessary.
  • Detail-oriented outlook coupled with ability to manage time effectively, plan ahead and meet deadlines.
  • Good business writing and presentation skills.

  • Technical:   5 - 8 years
  • Supervisory:   None

Education and Credentials

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or other data analysis discipline. 
  • Master's degree in business analytics would be a plus
