Job Description

As a Senior Applications Security Engineer you will be responsible for providing vision, strategy, and leadership in implementation of technology solutions to support company’s information security programs. Your responsibilities will include directing solutions and resources/teams performing security related tasks and/or creation of policies/practices related to security projects and company posture. You will protect the company’s physical and non-physical Information technology assets. You will serve as a lead member of the Operational Security team covering application security, IT security architecture, infrastructure platforms, physical security, and related business processes and workflows.

What you will do:

  • You will direct and provide leadership to Application Security assessments and maintain tool platforms, integrations, and processes in support of the Application Security program.
  • You will optimize a centralized program supporting DevSecOps infrastructure and capabilities through partnership with Development teams.
  • You will orchestrate additional Application Security activities across the SDLC, such as threat modeling, secure design reviews, training and outreach, etc.
  • You will partner with Risk, Compliance, and Assurance functions to support the organizations in meetings its obligations.
  • You will perform information security program management tasks as assigned, including defining and documenting corporate security policy and procedures, security metrics, and managing the security awareness program. 
  • You will provide input to the Information Security Roadmap.
  • You will assist in maintaining security team documentation, including runbooks, procedures, processes, and hardware/software inventory detail.
  • You will provide support in maintenance and administration of software tools that support the Information Security Program.  Examples of security tools include software to support endpoint security/encryption, physical security, vulnerability scanners, intrusion detection systems, data leakage and web proxy/filtering.
  • You will provide leadership and participate in security driven projects as defined by the Information Security Roadmap. 
  • You will represent the Operational Security team on non-security driven projects.
  • You will provide technical guidance and direction to less experienced staff and take a proactive approach in mentoring other staff members.

Who we are looking for:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in a relevant field and/or you have at least seven (7) years of work experience in the IT Security field.
  • You have attained Security and IT Certifications including, but not limited to, Security+, CISSP, CSSLP, or CEH.
  • You have strong knowledge of relevant technologies including: Veracode, BlackDuck, Imperva, CI/CD Infrastructure, Powershell scripting, API integrations, etc.
  • You have knowledge of other relevant technologies such as Bamboo, Jenkins, TFS, AWS CodePipeline, and/or Azure DevOps.
  • You have knowledge of Secure Development Lifecycle best practices and activities, including common frameworks such as SAMM, BSIMM, Microsoft SDL, etc.
  • You have knowledge of network and security protocols including TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, SSH, TLS, SSL, HTTP, IPSec and other VPN protocols
  • You have command of secure coding practices in common language(s) such as Java, JavaScript, .NET etc.
  • You have knowledge and understanding of application and security event logging systems
  • You have advanced written and verbal communications skills with the ability to lead and influence diverse groups, and explain technical terms to customers without similar backgrounds.
  • You have the ability to motivate and lead team/s, action-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and capable of directing/performing multiple tasks and plans simultaneously
