Job Description

The Resilience Manager is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and maintaining the emergency management and business continuity programs at Radian to help the organization respond to, and recover from, incidents. This is a 24/7 on-call role, reporting to the VP of Physical Security, Business Continuity, and Emergency Management. There are no direct reports, however, a number of outsourced contracts and outsourced staff may be managed, as required. This role requires travel of 10 to 25%.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Business Continuity
Create, maintain, and update Radian's business continuity program, to include:
1. Develop business continuity response standards, policies, or procedures
2. Conduct business impact analyses and risk assessments
3. Update business continuity plans and strategies
4. Develop, maintain, and exercise a pandemic and infectious disease plan
5. Train staff, business continuity coordinators, and site incident management teams on their roles in business recovery
6. Communicate organizational policies and procedures
7. Conduct and coordinate business continuity exercises
8. Report results of program accomplishments and deficiencies
9. Manage related projects

Emergency Management
Create, maintain, and update Radian's emergency management program, to include:
1. Develop emergency response standards, policies, or procedures
2. Establish emergency procedures and protocols
3. Manage the Emergency Coordinator program (e.g., identification, training, and currency of resources)
4. Train staff, Emergency Coordinators, and Site Incident Management Teams on their roles in an emergency
5. Maintain and operate the emergency communications systems
6. Communicate organizational policies and procedures.
7. Conduct and coordinate emergency response drills
8. Ensure maintenance of equipment is current, drills meet local code requirements, and maintain emergency supply inventory
9. Manage related projects
10. Other related duties, as assigned

Physical Security
Support the Physical Security Manager in the operation of the Security function, including:
1. Support the management and monitoring of the physical access control system, company-wide
2. Support after-hours and other security events/incidents, as needed
3. Perform badge and access control operations, as needed
4. Conduct security awareness training and perform security assessments for HQ and field locations
5. Other related duties, as assigned

Incident Management
Respond to, and support and/or manage incident response:
1. Monitor, track, and respond to incidents
4. Communicate status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols
5. Respond to security, safety, and business interruption events
6. Support incident management activities
7. Maintain and operate the emergency communications systems
8. Participate in After Action Reviews of incidents
9. Consolidate final reporting of incidents
10. Other related duties, as assigned

Professional Development & Engagement
Maintain currency of knowledge, skills, and abilities in emergency management and business Continuity.

Establish and maintain relationships with peers, professional bodies, and first-responder agencies to enhance Radian’s Emergency Management and Business Continuity programs.
1. Attend meetings, professional seminars, or conferences to keep abreast of changes in business continuity and emergency management thinking and approaches
2. Maintain knowledge of current developments in area of expertise
3. Coordinate with public law enforcement, fire, EMS, health services, and other agencies
4. Support other initiatives and duties, as assigned

Job Specifications


  • Knowledge and skills with emergency management, business continuity (business impact analysis, plan development, exercising), conducting training, and incident management.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office suite, ability to multitask, and maintain a positive and helpful attitude
  • Preferred: Mass notification systems, first-aid, and CPR/AED training

Other Position Parameters:

  • 24 x 7 x 365 availability on-call position with 10 to 25% travel

Prior Work Experience

  • Technical:   3 - 5 years
  • Supervisory:   None

Education and Credentials

  • Required:    Bachelor’s Degree,  Concentration in Any
  • Preferred:    Master’s Degree,  Concentration in Any
  • Other Certifications:   ABCP, CBCP, MBCI, APP, PSP, CPP, AEM, CEM, or equivalent preferred
