Job Description

Under direct supervision, analyzes moderately complex mortgage insurance business problems using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Support file and data intake routines with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot large data files. Participate in system and process enhancements including serving as a primary resource for user acceptance testing (UAT). Coordinate and perform all aspects of servicing related to the billing and cash processing. The duties include performing daily cash reconciliation routines as well as completing manual and automated cash posting activities. This position will also manage customer relationships as they relate to scheduled renewal billing activities, billing set up and conversions, maintaining servicing contacts, perform customer outreach, research and resolve inquiries, conduct quality audits and perform surveillance routines for the collection an application of premiums.

What you will do:

  • Gather and analyze data to perform root cause analysis, analyze trends, present findings and apply lessons to develop solutions to business problems or improve work product. Prepare scheduled and ad hoc reporting.Perform complex servicing reconciliations with the ability to analyze and trouble shoot large date files. Support data and file intake routines.
  • Manage/support all billing activities for mortgage insurance (MI), contract underwriters (CUW) and Radian Insurance Inc. (RIINC) ranging from customer set up, ongoing account maintenance, inquiry and exception resolution through QA and issuance of scheduled invoices. Perform customer outreach to enhance relationship, maintain current and accurate customer data, resolve issues and identify improvement opportunities. Support daily cash reconciliation routines and complete processing of assigned automated and manual batches, maintaining compliance with established service level agreement (SLA), quality and productivity guidelines.  
  • Support system and business enhancement initiative including development of requirements through the design and execution of user acceptance test scripts and criteria.  
  • Coordinate and prepare standard and ad hoc reporting. Ability to write complex queries.
  • Cross train in other servicing support functions. Manage special projects as assigned.


What we are looking for:

Knowledge:

  • Experience in financial services organization- mortgage industry preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a billing and payment environment, preferable with an understanding of premium accounting transactions.
  • Will consider recent grad with strong programming skills (Excel, SAS, or SQL) and demonstrated ability to grasp new concepts and techniques.
  • Good problem solving and data management skills with abilities to digest and manipulate data.
  • Knowledge /experience in a work flow environment.
  • MS Office products.
  • Mathematical skills - ability to calculate premiums, reconcile and balance files.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with critical month end and quarter end milestones.
  • Design/write test scripts and perform user acceptance testing.
  • Perform manual as well as automated posting activities. Includes basic data entry.
  • Attention to detail as demonstrated by effective time-management, good organizational skills and use of analytical thinking to independently solve problems. 
  • Ability to handle fast paced work environment and manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Strong aptitude for analytics; demonstrated ability to draw value-added insights from large amounts of financial  and operational data.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and shows a demonstrated ability to absorb information quickly.
  • Strong critical thinking.
  • Training / experience with Microsoft Office products; very high-level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to be a self-motivator and work independently, as well as work effectively with others.
  • Intellectually curious.  Is willing to question traditional ways of doing things and develop new approaches to old challenges.

Prior Work Experience

  • 1- 2 years of related work experience
