Job Description

As a Payroll Administrator you will act as support staff to the Payroll Department and will complete the following functions:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as department liaison: answer employee inquiries, communicate with other departments, monitor e-mails and phone calls and respond timely
  • Responsible for all outside Verification of Employment requests that come to department and completing these with a rapid turnaround time
  • Assist Payroll Specialist in collection, verification and audits of time sheets on a company-wide basis
  • Participate in bi-weekly payroll processing by completing the following tasks: data entry throughout pay processing, completing necessary audits throughout pay process, acting as support staff for Payroll Dept. on an as needed basis
  • Solely responsible for all filing and organization of paper records for the Payroll Dept. (i.e., file room administrator)
  • Other tasks as assigned

Job Specifications


  • Experience in having worked in an office setting and navigating corporate policies
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
  • Proficient MS Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and professionalism                                                                              
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information handled
  • Excellent customer service, critical thinking, written, and verbal communications skills
  • Able to effectively collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners in a fast paced environment 

Prior Work Experience

  • Technical:   6 months - 1 year

Education and Credentials

  • Required:  HS Diploma/GED,  Concentration in Finance / Accounting related
  • Preferred:  Bachelor’s Degree,  Concentration in Finance / Accounting related
  • Other Certifications:  Workday Payroll experience preferred, but not required
