Job Description

The Product Manager will provide direction and leadership to Client Services Managers (CSMs), oversee the administration of origination fulfillment services and track all Underwriting operations projects.

The Product Manager will be responsible for delivering commercially viable mortgage origination services and ensuring the appropriate operational policies and processes are in place to successfully fulfill, track and bill the services we offer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • The CSMs are the primary liaisons between Sales, Client, and Production teams for Contract Underwriting and Contract Processing service offerings.  The Product Manager oversees prospecting customers, negotiating terms and executing on resource placements while managing a high performing team that provides outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers. The CSM team will facilitate  collection of service revenue with Sales and clients, advise management of serious delinquent clients and execute contract cancellations as needed.
  • Design mortgage origination fulfillment services to meet client’s needs profitably. Work closely with senior management to set product pricing strategies.  Provide competitive market intelligence by routinely monitoring trends.  Facilitate cross functional teams to draft policies and design processes to track, report and invoice services performed. 
  • Manage overall pipeline of service requests and provide weekly status on all clients in various stages of the implementation lifecycle (request through production launch). Highlight any constraints and mitigations. Compile customer level metrics and facilitate quarterly internal pricing reviews to assess customer performance against pricing assumptions and margin targets. Propose mitigation strategy for underperforming clients.
  • Track  Underwriting Operations projects and provide senior management with regular status and progress updates.  Lead, develop and/or facilitate new processes and solutions for the operations department as requested.
  • Manage the consistency and accuracy of resource set up and customer level records as it relates to external billing processes and originating MI.
  • Support the reporting team with routine reporting, and assisting with troubleshooting and tracking of application and data issues.


Job Specifications

Knowledge:

  • 8+ years experience with some level of client service management
  • Mortgage industry experience, specifically UW experience  preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a high-achieving team of professionals
  • Product Development experience, preferably in the mortgage originations area
  • Experience reviewing and parsing contractual language related to outsourcing
  • Experience with systems connectivity solutions (Citrix, VPN, etc.)
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Visio, Power Point and Excel skills preferred

  • The Product Manager will manage a team of 2 CSMs and an administrator to start. The Product Manger will be responsible for establishing and measuring performance goals for the team, as well as working with each team member on personal and career development; in addition to other management duties


Prior Work Experience

  • Technical:   8 - 10 years
  • Supervisory:   1 - 3 years


Education and Credentials

  • Required:    Bachelor’s Degree
